Modell’s Sporting Goods Senior Discount

Quick answer: There’s no Modell’s senior discount anymore, because there are no Modell’s stores. Every Modell’s Sporting Goods store closed in 2020 after the company went bankrupt. The name now lives on as an online shop, and we found no senior deal there.

What happened to Modell’s?

Modell’s filed for bankruptcy in March 2020 and had closed every store by that summer. A company called Retail Ecommerce Ventures bought the name and turned it into a website, modells.com. In June 2026 the former CEO, Mitchell Modell, started a separate site selling T-shirts, but there are still no stores to walk into.

Where to shop instead

The online Modell’s shop gives new email subscribers 10% off a first order, and anyone can get that. For used sports gear at thrift prices, see our Goodwill senior discount and Salvation Army Thrift Stores pages.

Modell’s senior discount FAQ

Is Modell’s still open?

Not in stores. All Modell’s stores closed in 2020. The brand only sells online now.

Does Modell’s online store have a senior discount?

No. The only discount we found was 10% off a first order when you sign up for emails.

Is mitchellmodells.com the same as Modell’s?

No. It’s a separate site the former CEO started in 2026, not the old store chain.

Last checked: September 2026. The Modell’s name has changed hands before, so the online store could change again.
