What gets the 10% off
Most of the store. That’s the good news with Fry’s: unlike some other Kroger stores, it isn’t limited to store brands. Groceries, produce, meat, household goods, health and beauty and pet food all qualify.
What’s left out:
- Prescriptions
- Alcohol and tobacco
- Fuel and gift cards
- Postage, lottery, money orders, Western Union and other fees
- Event tickets, phone activation and game consoles
How to sign up
You have to be enrolled before the discount shows up. Take a photo ID to the customer service desk at any Fry’s and ask them to add the senior discount to your Fry’s Rewards account. After that, the 10% comes off automatically on the first Wednesday whenever you use your card or phone number.
Does it work on pickup and delivery?
Yes, as long as you place the order on the first Wednesday. It doesn’t apply to ship-to-home orders or delivery-only orders, and you can’t get it on something you bought earlier. There are no rainchecks.
How to get the most out of it
- Save your stock-up trip for that Wednesday. Paper goods, cleaning supplies and pantry staples add up fast.
- Load your digital coupons first. The senior 10% is an extra discount, so it’s taken on top of the sale price. Ask at the register if you’re unsure how a coupon combines.
- Order pickup early in the day if you want to skip the crowds.
