Alamo AARP Discount
Quick answer: Alamo no longer has an AARP discount, and it doesn’t offer a senior rate. The old 25% off for AARP members is gone. If you’re an AARP member, Avis and Budget are the brands with an AARP deal now, at up to 35% off base rates.
Does Alamo give an AARP discount?
No. AARP’s current car rental benefits list Avis, Budget, Payless, Zipcar and the AARP Travel Center. Alamo isn’t on it. Some websites still say “25% off Alamo with AARP,” but that deal isn’t offered anymore.
What to use instead
- AARP with Avis or Budget. Up to 35% off base rates, plus a free additional driver. See our Avis AARP page and Budget AARP page.
- AARP Travel Center. AARP’s travel site, powered by Expedia, lists savings of up to 30% on select car rentals.
- Alamo Insiders. It’s free to join and gives 5% off base rates on Pay Later bookings. Taxes and fees aren’t discounted.
Our tip: always compare. Rental prices jump around, and a regular public rate can beat a member discount. Check two or three brands for the same dates.
