Shoney’s Senior Discount
Quick answer: Many Shoney’s restaurants give guests 60 and older 10% off. It isn’t a company-wide rule, because most Shoney’s are run by franchise owners, and some locations run a weekly senior day special instead. Ask your server before you order.
Does Shoney’s still have a senior discount?
Yes, at a lot of locations. Senior discount guides updated in late 2025 and mid 2026 still list 10% off at 60 and up for Shoney’s, and they all add the same warning: it’s not company-wide. You won’t find it on the Shoney’s website, and each restaurant makes its own call. That’s why one Shoney’s may take 10% off while another in the next town doesn’t.
Some locations tie the discount to a Golden Age Club card. If you have one, bring it. If not, ask whether you can sign up, or just show a photo ID with your age.
What the discount usually doesn’t cover
Where it’s offered, the 10% has usually applied to regular menu items. Don’t be surprised if it doesn’t work on:
- The food bar or all-you-can-eat promotions
- Holiday menus and limited-time specials
- Anything already discounted, including coupons
Shoney’s senior day specials
Some Shoney’s have moved to a senior day instead of a flat percentage. The Shoney’s in Lebanon, Tennessee, for example, has promoted a set-price senior day meal on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. These deals are local, so check your restaurant’s Facebook page or call and ask, “Do you have a senior day?”
How to ask for it
- Ask about a senior discount or senior day when you sit down, not when the check comes.
- Have a photo ID or your Golden Age Club card ready.
- If you have a coupon, ask which saves more. They usually can’t be combined.
